The Halifax International Airport is located about 30 minutes from the city by car. There are several options for travel from the airport. Information on various options is available at the Ground Transportation information desk at the arrivals area.
Taxi
Taxis and limousines are available directly outside of the arrivals area and provide one-way trips to downtown Halifax for a fixed rate of $63.00. Shared transportation may also be available.
Airport Shuttle
The Airport Express shuttle provides transportation to downtown Halifax between May 1 and October 31. The cost of a ticket is $22.00 (or $40 round trip). Car Rental
Car rentals are conveniently located in the Lower Level of the Airport Parkade. Follow the signs in the Arrivals area (see below). Rental companies include Alamo/National, Avis, Budget, Dollar/Thrifty, Enterprise and Hertz.

Metro-Transit
The least expensive way to travel into the city is using the bus operated by Halifax Metro Transit. Bus #320 leaves the airport every half-hour or hour (depending on the time of day) and arrives in downtown Halifax after about an hour. The schedule can be found here. The fare is $3.50 (exact change required).
To locate the bus stop, proceed down the long hallway in the arrivals area (see pictures at right) past the currency exchange counter and take the down escalator on the right. Follow the hallway at the bottom of the escalator to exit the building and turn left. The bus stop is a short distance up the hill.
Exit the bus at the last stop after the bridge (Albemarle Street). The maps at the bottom of the page show the route from the bus stop to the Atlantica Hotel (1.3 km, 18 min) and the Lord Nelson Hotel (1.1 km, 14 min). To travel to the Dalhousie residence halls, proceed to the Lord Nelson Hotel and then follow the maps in the online program (about 30 min).
This bus may also be used for your return trip to the airport. Note that, if you are using the bus ticket provided in your conference package, an additional $1 will be required, since this is not a regular route.
